The Turkey Trot is an annual road race that is held on or around Thanksgiving Day in various locations throughout the United States. The race is generally a 5k which is 3.1 miles. The race is usually held on Thanksgiving Day because participants anticipate indulgent Thanksgiving feasts and run to burn off calories before the big meals.
